We know the power of healing close to home. Traveling to receive treatment when you already feel unwell means you’re spending more time focused on your cancer, and less time focused on your healing, your loved ones, and yourself. At Outer Banks Health, we want to help you carry that weight by providing state-of-the-art cancer care and support close to home.
It’s why we built the Carol S. and Edward D. Cowell Cancer Center. The Outer Banks Health Cowell Cancer, conveniently located across the street from the hospital in Nags Head, houses all of our cancer services under one roof. Read more about this local resource here.
From screening to diagnosis to treatment therapies, the cancer care team at Outer Banks Health is here for you. We are part of an elite group of hospitals receiving a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and have a breast care program accredited by the NAPBC of the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation is given only to those facilities that are committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
With a progressive facility that includes chemotherapy, radiation, advanced therapies, nurse navigator services, symptom management, support groups and more, our dedicated, expert team will help you and your loved ones navigate your choices about the care you need — according to your wishes and your doctor’s guidance.
