Outer Banks Health again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval in 2022 by demonstrating compliance with The Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety. Over the course of 2-days in September, OBH underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site survey by a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors who evaluated compliance with standards related to a variety of areas.
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) is an organization made up of individuals from the private medical sector that develops and maintains standards of quality in medical facilities in the United States.
