Stereotactic Breast Biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure used to rule out or diagnose breast cancer following a suspicious finding from a physical exam, mammogram or ultrasound.  The procedure uses ultrasound guided needle aspiration to remove a small sample of suspicious breast tissue.  The procedure is most often done on an outpatient basis by a radiologist or general surgeon.  The procedure take less than one hour and does not require suturing.
