Outer Banks Health Logo

NAGS HEAD, N.C. — Feb. 1, 2023 — Reflecting over two decades of purposeful growth and innovation,  The Outer Banks Hospital and Medical Group announces that it will be united under the newly refreshed brand name Outer Banks Health.

“It is our honor and privilege to strive to meet the health needs of Dare County residents and visitors,” said President Ronnie Sloan, FACHE. “And while our name has evolved, our core mission to enhance the quality of life and elevate wellness for the people we serve remains constant. You will continue to receive the high-quality clinical care you’ve come to know, delivered with compassion by medical professionals who go above and beyond every day.”

The sunrise over the water in the new logo is intentional because it honors the Outer Banks and represents the organization’s consistent daily efforts to reach new horizons in health. Over the coming months, the new name and logo will become evident throughout the community as the transition from The Outer Banks Hospital and Medical Group to Outer Banks Health rolls out.

“We will continue to innovate, expand services, and attract the best and brightest team members,” said Sloan. “In fact, that work is already underway with our new state-of-the-art cancer center, an expanded hospital laboratory and our reinvestment in programs focused on community wellness.” He added, “Our refreshed brand brings 500 individuals together under one name. We are stronger than ever and laser focused on the needs of this community. Together, our sights are set on the brightest horizons for health, and we rise every day to meet this opportunity head-on.”

Founded in 2002 through a partnership with ECU Health (formerly Vidant Health) and Chesapeake. Regional Healthcare, The Outer Banks Hospital has grown to become one of only13 similarly sized community hospitals in the nation to have an accredited cancer program. “Our strength and success are the result of team member dedication as well as the support we have and will continue to receive from these two great health systems,” noted Sloan.
