Robin South, Chronic Disease Nurse Navigator for The Center for Healthy Living, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s October, 2019 Employee of the Month. She joined The Outer Banks Hospital in August, 2017 from West Point, Virginia and VCU Health in Richmond.

Much of South’s work involves complicated cases requiring multiple resources and coordination which she juggles with professionalism, dedication and meticulous organization. Those same skills allowed her to effectively build her service line from the ground up upon her hire. She is a proven team player at every level in the Vidant system.

South is able to successfully guide her patients through their health journey with a patient, kind and loving manner. Many of those patients return to express gratitude for her care and the improvements they are able to achieve with her assistance. She is always compassionate in providing care.

When she was told she had been chosen as the October Employee of the Month, South stated, “It is so exciting to be named employee of the month!” She continued, “I enjoy living and working in our beach community that is always striving to help one another. Most of all, it is a pleasure to serve our patients in new and innovative ways!”
