NAGS HEAD, N.C. — April 28, 2025 — Outer Banks Health (OBH) is excited to announce it will open a cardiology practice in May 2025. The addition to the health system brings greater access and enhanced support to cardiac care on the Outer Banks.

As Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular (ECC), located in OBH’s medical office building, closes with Lindsey White, MD, preparing for a well-deserved retirement, OBH will welcome all ECC patients to keep this crucial line of care local. OBH and ECC have long shared resources, making the transition a natural next step.

“This community is incredibly special to me, and I’ve built strong, meaningful relationships with so many of my patients over the years. As I move into this next chapter, I do so with complete confidence in the OBH team. I know they will continue to provide the high-quality care my patients deserve,” White said.

Patients will continue to see the same trusted providers, including Robin Adami, ANP, Kimberly Caesar, PA-C, and Krista Hess, AGACNP-C, and in his continued dedication to patient care, White will continue to see patients at OBH during the transition period. OBH will deliver uninterrupted heart care through this dedicated team while actively recruiting a full-time, on-site cardiologist.

“We are proud to welcome this practice into our system and are incredibly thankful for the years of dedication Dr. White has given to the Outer Banks community for building such an incredible practice. He has built a really strong foundation for cardiac care on the Outer Banks, and OBH plans to continue that legacy,” said Ronnie Sloan, president of OBH.

The current cardiology space in the medical office building will undergo a renovation to bring a modern, patient-centered design with updated features and exam rooms.

Privacy and safety are top priorities for OBH and ECC. Patients can expect a seamless transition compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, with all medical records remaining secure and confidential throughout the entire process.

OBH is looking to the future, ready to reach new horizons in cardiac health. Head to www.outerbankshealth.org/services/cardiology to learn more.

About Outer Banks Health

Outer Banks Health is a growing health system that provides a range of health and wellness services for our community. Designed especially to meet the health needs of our coastal community, whose year-round population of 35,000 swells to over 250,000 in the summer season, we’re first in the state for patient satisfaction, first in the nation to pilot groundbreaking rural health cancer programs and the very first to be designated a Dementia Friendly Hospital. We work with our partners, ECU Health and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, along with other health organizations throughout North Carolina and Virginia, to help our residents and visitors access the best possible care for their diagnosis. Many times we deliver that care right here, close to home.
