Nags Head, NC – February 23, 2026 – Outer Banks Health is proud to announce Benjamin T. Reilly, FNP‑C, of OBH Orthopedics & Sports Medicine as the recipient of the 2025 Outer Banks Health Horizon Award, honoring him as this year’s Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. This award recognizes an APP who demonstrates exceptional clinical care, leadership and dedication to improving the health and well‑being of Dare County’s residents and visitors.

The selection committee evaluated nominees on patient and team member experience, quality initiatives, leadership, mentoring and community involvement. More than 30 nominations were submitted this year, with many highlighting Reilly’s remarkable impact on his patients, colleagues and the community.

“Ben is outstanding at making patients feel heard and cared for,” one nomination read. “Patients enjoy seeing him and are always satisfied with the care he provides.” Team members consistently praised his willingness to step in wherever needed, his dedication to patient-centered care and his positive presence within the Orthopedics team.

Reilly’s commitment extends beyond the clinical setting. He is actively involved in local high school athletics and plays a key role in the OBH Healthcare Career Exploration Program, inspiring future generations of healthcare professionals. “He’s just amazing,” another nominator shared. “A fantastic team player with a great sense of humor—we are blessed to have him as part of our Ortho family.”

Patients consistently praise Reilly’s leadership and care, describing him as an exceptional provider who listens attentively and always offers thoughtful solutions. His ability to explain conditions and treatment plans clearly and concisely, ensuring that patients feel informed and supported every step of the way. Many note his thoroughness, sharing that he addresses each concern with care and provides practical advice, exercises and tools to help them continue healing at home.
