Lori Leathers, Dietary Team Leader, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s December, 2019 Employee of the Month. She joined The Outer Banks Hospital in September, 2015. She is originally from Linwood, Pennsylvania.

Leathers’ giant smile is a welcome treat as employees and visitors enter the café. She is happy to help however she can and goes out of her way to ensure that every person has a great meal and experience. She is always on the hunt for new and exciting additions to the salad bar, to the delight of many.

Leathers heads up the Food and Nutrition Services Safety Committee, which addresses safety concerns in the department and throughout the hospital. She also became ServeSafe certified last year. In addition, Leathers has the responsibility of handling the hospital’s beverage vendors, checking in orders and keeping the space clean and organized.

A true team player, Leathers is always willing to cover a shift and lend a hand however she can. She is an excellent example of our values and demonstrates her dedication to her work and patients every day.

Upon hearing that she had been chosen as the December Employee of the Month, Leathers stated, “I’m so surprised! I wouldn’t be able to do my job without my co-workers.” She continued, “The teamwork and support we have is amazing. I love working here and getting to know so many hospital employees and visitors.”
