Heather Severson, Staff Nurse on Medical/Surgical, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s September, 2019 Employee of the Month. She joined The Outer Banks Hospital in October, 2014 after moving from Annapolis, Maryland.

Severson eagerly seeks out growth and learning opportunities. She recently took on a short-notice assignment in Radiology and immediately made a positive impact. She is professional, compassionate and proactive with the staff, providers and especially the patients. She approaches change and new processes with a can-do attitude that is contagious. Her positivity during adversity makes her a role model for her peers and the newer nurses.

Lisa McGaha, Director of Inpatient Services, states “Severson is the type of nurse we all want at our bedside. She is knowledgeable, confident, and always compassionate. She continued, “She brings a sense of calm and comfort to her patient experiences that few can achieve.” Severson is an excellent example of the culture of caring we strive for at The Outer Banks Hospital.
