Asante Marner joined Outer Banks Health in May 2023. From the moment she arrived, she demonstrated an exceptional drive to learn and a commitment to broadening her skills. She has taken on additional responsibilities to ease the workload of her colleagues and is always ready to pick up extra shifts or adjust her schedule to support the department.
Marner’s dedication to delivering high-quality patient care is evident in everything she does, and she consistently displays a strong work ethic and a team-first mindset. Her thoughtful, inquisitive approach reflects a genuine desire to understand processes and improve outcomes. In addition, she plays a key role in training new team members, offering supportive feedback that builds confidence and enhances their experience.
One of Marner’s most noticeable qualities is her vibrant attitude. Even during demanding times, she remains positive, focused, and determined. She never hesitates to help a coworker and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure excellent patient care. She is currently furthering her education by studying to become a medical laboratory scientist, underscoring her dedication to continuous improvement.
Beyond her technical skills, Marner has gone above and beyond to brighten the lab through her thoughtful birthday celebrations for her coworkers, which have had a positive impact on team morale. She is described as an outstanding technician with a very bright future, reliable, hardworking, and a true pleasure to work with. “Asante is an amazing human and a quiet force. She goes above and beyond for the lab and her team,” shared one team member. Another added, “She is a huge asset that makes our team stronger, and she is greatly appreciated.”
