Laboratory testing assists medical providers with determining changes in a person’s health as well as diagnosing medical conditions. Accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Outer Banks Health performs lab testing on children and adults with the highest standards to ensure safety.
Our laboratory is under the medical direction of East Carolina University Regional Pathology, ECU Brody School of Medicine, Greenville, NC, a regional pathology practice of board certified and sub-specialty certified Pathologists.
Each of our Medical Technologists, Medical Technicians and Support Technicians are registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, a standard of excellence in the laboratory field. Our laboratory participates in internal/external quality programs, staff competency assessments and regular professional education to ensure a high level of professional expertise and quality testing.
Outer Banks Health Laboratory is the only CAP-accredited blood bank on the Outer Banks.
No appointment is necessary for the services below. The walk-in lab services are open to serve the community Monday-Friday 7:00am – 4:30pm. Outer Banks Health team members will register patients in order of arrival beginning at 7:00am.
